The band is the only band in the North of the Island. We rehearse in our own bandroom in Neptune Street inbetween the Lifeboat Station and the Inner Harbour. The band was reformed in October 1981 and has since thrived thanks to the hard work of a dedicated core committee, fundraisers and an extremely supportive local community. The Senior Band is currently around 40 players ranging from 10 years to "free bus pass". It is from this group that 28 players are selected to go competing,
The band also have a Junior Band "The Neptune Street Nippers" who number around 50. There is a lot of crossover in the middle but approximately 70 brass player meet each week in one way or another.
