Ramsey Town Band has been supported by the Ramsey community in it's quest to get to the National Finals in Harrogate later this month.

At a coffee morning in the Town Hall, band chairman, Vivien Quane, received two generous cheques.

Chairman of Ramsey Commissioners presented a cheque of £1000 and Francis Lobb and Adrian Olsen from Lloyds TSB Plc Offshore also presented a cheque for £1000.

W. H. Looney's, Ramsey Rotary Club and Ramsey Bakery are also providing sponsorship.

The coffee mornig was a happy occasion, with music from the band conducted by president, Ray Gillis and a very successful tombola.

Sincere thanks go to everyone who has supported their fundraising events, especially coach driver Bill Hankin, or Albert Terrace, whose sponsored slim raised more than £750.

At the commissioners' Mrs Bruce said: "We wish them well in the competition. They are a credit to the town".
